I'm not sure whether I'm the only one or not, but I find it quite difficult to splash out on makeup brushes. They're arguably the most important part of your makeup routine, however they're incredibly expensive! I'd much rather buy a few makeup items than one brush. Aside from Real Techniques, the drugstore really lacks decent brushes.
This makes me particularly excited to share this review with you, as I've finally found an excellent brush set for an unfathomable price.
You all know my love for W7 products, so when I received this makeup brush set, I was instantly sold.
The brushes come housed in a lovely little brush wallet, which has a plastic cover that shields the brushes so when you roll them in they don't lose shape. It's an ideal wallet for travelling as I always worry that my brushes will lose shape and get messed up when I take them away with me.
The set comes with 12 brushes:
- An eyebrow comb
- A sponge-tip applicator
- An eyebrow spoolie
- An angled eyeliner/eyebrow brush
- An eyeliner brush
- A lip brush
- A fan brush
- A small shader brush
- A regular sized eyeshadow brush
- A larger eyeshadow brush that can be used to blend
- An angled contour/blush brush
- A powder brush
The brushes are incredibly soft and they don't shed at all, which I'm hugely impressed by as I have brushes from high-end brands that shed on me!
The application from the brushes is absolutely fantastic - there's not one brush in this collection that I don't use regularly. They are an excellent size and the brushes themselves are of a very high standard.
I particularly love the three eyeshadow brushes - you could create a whole eye look just using the three of them - you could even double them up to blend with!
I think they look so much more expensive than they actually are. Each brush has a sleek black handle with a small W7 logo, making them look equal to my MAC and Chanel brushes!
The biggest test for me when I'm reviewing new makeup brushes is how well they wash. I'm incredibly fussy when it comes to my makeup brushes and I wash them every time I use them (I know - it's a pain!) so I appreciate brushes that are quick and easy to wash.
I use regular shampoo to wash my brushes, and these wash really well. They don't shed, nor do they lose their shape. They also dry within a few hours which is quite remarkable considering they're not synthetic brushes. In fact, they've actually dried quicker than some of my synthetic brushes!
The W7 Professional Brush Set will set you back a mere £12.95, making each brush a little over a pound each - that is absolutely incredible value considering the quality of the brushes!
I couldn't recommend the brushes enough - I've been reaching for them over my more expensive, staple brushes recently!
What are your favourite makeup brushes?
